CALM CORNER

Located in the bustling Margao city, near Holy Spirit Church, Kaushik’s Book Kaffe offers a quiet escape that stores an extensive and well-curated collection of books for readers.

THE CREATORS

Ivan Almeida, the owner and the curator of the library, along with his wife converted his quaint house into a book haven for all who enjoy reading.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Almeida created this library in memory of his late son-in-law, Kaushik Banerjee, an avid reader, who passed away in 2020. The eponymous library was inaugurated on January 14, 2022, Kaushik’s birth anniversary.

BOOKS GALORE

In the beginning, Almeida had a collection of around 1,500 books, which you can find here. And today, the collection has surpassed 6,000 books.

THOUGHTFUL CREATION

A lot of thought went into putting this space together, from making a list of books and cataloguing to renovating the house to make space for bookshelves.

ENDLESS CHOICES

This privately owned library has books across every genre, from history to fiction, so there is something for everyone.

SELFLESS ENDEAVOUR

This project is truly a labour of love. It is a free and accessible space for those who wish to be in the company of books all day.
