It is summer vacation, and every day at around 4 pm, a cacophony erupts as the Miramar Youth Hostel roars with the laughter of skateboarders which is punctuated by the rhythmic bounce of basketballs.
The summer air hangs thick with the anticipation of an endless summer vacation. Of course, the Goan heat is a little harsh, but the cool sea breeze takes care of the heat.
While some of the summer vacationers at the skate park are experienced skateboarders, there are those who can be seen taking their first tentative steps into this new sport.
And on the basketball court, it's the determination and will to learn that keeps them coming back every single day to the friendly riverside haven.
Here, the spirit of creativity takes centre stage. The skate park is a canvas splashed with vibrant colours of self-expression, subtly making its own style statement.
There's nothing cooler than the feeling of finally landing a trick you've been practicing for days. That's the reason amateur skaters arrive a little earlier to stake their claim on the ramps and impress the experienced skateboarders.
The determination on the other side of the ramp is equally contagious as the boundless energy of the basketball kids complements the rhythmic clatter of the skateboarders.
Playtime might be over, but the day isn't quite done. It's time to celebrate every trick landed and each basket scored at the Tasty Trucker, a mobile food cart.
In the end, they go home with bellies full and spirits high.
