Day 1 of the Goa Assembly turned dramatic as the Opposition members, who were wearing black outfits, shouted 'Save Mhadei' slogans.
There was pandemonium in the House when the Goa Governor, P S Sreedharan Pillai's address made no mention of Mhadei river issue.
Looking at the situation, the Speaker summoned the Assembly marshals to evict the sloganeering MLAs from the well of the House.
MLAs Yuri Almeao, Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Venzy Viegas, Vijay Sardesai and Altone D'Costa protested wearing black.
All the Opposition MLAs boycotted the proceedings of the Assembly.
Venzy Viegas took to social media and shared the photograph and captioned it "It’s @BJP4Goa Govt Vs the People yet again..."
The Governor's speech focused on completion of Mopa airport and one phase of Zuari Bridge.
