Car plunges into river Zuari after ramming into bridge railings, all 4 occupants dead

The rescue operation, which involved the Navy and other agencies, commenced on Thursday morning and went on for 12 hours after which the car was retrieved from the river bed.

The vehicle was badly mangled and two of the four occupants were trapped.

The last two bodies were extricated from the car after cutting open the mangled portion by using hydraulic cutters.

All the four bodies were extricated from the car by around 2 pm.
