Art Inc. to promote talent of Goan artists with disabilities

BREAKING BARRIERS

Art Inc, an exhibition featuring Goan artists with disabilities, will take place at the Museum of Goa in Pilerne from July 19 to August 4, 2024.

BOUNDLESS CREATIVITY

Office of the State Commissioner for PwDs is collaborating with Museum of Goa, Pilerne, to promote this exhibition. Forty-seven aspiring Goan artists with disabilities have been selected to display and sell their artworks.

Fontainhas (2024)

Fontainhas (2024) by 33-year-old Nigel Lazarus De Souza captures the beauty of Fontainhas through ink and watercolour on paper.

Dragon Realm 1

Dragon Realm 1 (2023) by 18-year-old Sufya Panna is made of papier mache, displaying the artist's love for dragons.

Craftsman

Craftsman (2002) by 60-year-old artist Dylan Arthur is an oil painting on canvas, reflecting his admiration for eminent artists like Picasso, Van Gogh and more.

Corn Eagle

Corn Eagle (2024) by 19-year-old artist Saharsh Santosh Vaingankar, has combined animal and vegetable forms with watercolour on paper medium.

Fisherwomen

Fisherwomen (2024) by 19-year-old artist Saharsh Santosh Vaingankar, is another watercolour on paper painting that captures fisherwomen in a Goan market.

Cat in the Classroom

Cat in the Classroom (2024) by 26-year-old artist Sarvesh Suresh Naik is an acrylic on canvas painting created at a workshop at Lok Vishwas Pratishthan School, Ponda.

Scenery

Scenery (2024) is an abstraction of scenery by 18-year-old artist Tanish Kinalkar, who has a visual impairment. He used acrylic paint on canvas to create this painting.

Drifting Thru Goa

Drifting Thru Goa (2024) by acclaimed artist, paralympic swimmer, and motivational speaker Gregory Burns in collaboration with Westin Goa, utilises mixed media to showcase the ways in which Burns’ visit to Goa inspired him.

Tricky Elephant

Tricky Elephant (2024) by renowned Goan poet and author Frederika Menezes is a digital art piece. Menezes used her ring finger to make smaller impressions to create the digital painting.

Starry Days

Starry Days (2024) by the TIES (Towards Inclusion Everywhere in Society) Collective, Porvorim, utilises cut lady fingers dipped in acrylic paint and pressed on canvas, under TIES’ ‘STAR Project’.
