Well, just around the corner Goa's Chikal Kalo festival is all set to drench revellers in some devotion and fun-filled mud battles.

MUDDY & PLAYFUL

Commemorating Lord Krishna's playful nature, the annually held festival is celebrated at the Devaki Krishna temple in Marcel, North Goa.

RITUAL AND RHYTHM

At the festival, the participants (men with oiled bodies) partake in devotional prayers, take a parikrama around the temple and dance to the beats of local instruments.

SPIRIT OF FUN

Trampling in the muck and kicking up dirt at the festival, attendees, regardless of age, smear mud on each other. All in fun spirit.

GOA'S RICH CULTURE

Bonding with each other and nature, attendees also indulge in some traditional games like gilli danda and build a human pyramid to break the dahi handi.
