On the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary, the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary was taken around the village in a festive procession. The statue was placed atop a car which was adorned with flowers and string lights.
The procession began at the Church of Our Lady of Rosary, Navelim, and went all around the various wards of the village.
The festive procession halted at every ward and people recited the rosary along the way.
This practice of organising a procession was started last year during the pandemic, and this year, too, the same was followed on the feast day.
A prayer dance was performed by children, who were dressed as angels.
The procession went all around the village of Navelim and finally ended around midnight.
Incense in traditional Goan censers (dhumpel) and candles were placed all over the village.
