Flexcia D'souza
Travel content creator, Flexcia D'souza, and two of her friends set out on an adventurous 230-km ride into the hinterlands to explore Goa beyond its beaches.
They started the ride from Bardez, and crossed over to Chorao island via Calvim.
The ride through Chorao was filled with scenic views that included lush green fields all around.
Since they had a long ride ahead, they stopped for a filling of local breakfast before getting onto the ferry heading for Ribandar.
After crossing Old Goa, they left the highway and took the interior roads, crossing villages, fields and hills.
They slowly made their way through the jungles and rode along the beautiful stretches of Rivona and Netravali.
They skipped a visit to the Netravali waterfall (but you could visit), and found an abandoned quarry in Usgalimal, full of calm turquoise waters, making for a beautiful sight.
They changed route on the way back, and rode via Curdi, Savordem, Usgao and Bicholim, and took a quick sunset stop in Bicholim.
A trip into the hinterlands is a must-try during the rains, and whether it’s a ride or a drive, you might want to consider visiting a wildlife sanctuary this season.
