On the second last Friday of Lent, the people of Panjim parish were witness to the enactment of the Way of the Cross.
As part of the Way of the Cross, youth were dressed as Jesus, Mary and the soldiers as they as they enacted Jesus' painful walk to Calvary.
Over 50 people took part in the program, and walked along the Altinho hillock towards the Archbishop's Palace.
Scenes from Christ's 'Passion' were enacted at all 14 halts along the route.
All the roles were performed perfectly by the youth of Panjim parish.
One of the Stations, where Jesus was nailed to cross, was also enacted.
Jesus being crucified on the cross was depicted very realistically.
In this scene, Jesus' body is brought down from the cross and handed into the arms of His weeping mother, Mary.
In the final Station, the body of Jesus is laid in a tomb, while the onlookers grieve.
The last stop on the route was the majestic Archbishop's Palace, in Altinho, Panjim.
