A cake mixing ceremony, the way Taj Exotica, Benaulim, does it

SOON IT WILL BE CHRISTMAS DAY

With Christmas just a couple of weeks away, it’s time for traditional cake mixing ceremonies. On Friday, Nov 10, 2023, a grand cake mixing event was held at Taj Exotica Resort & Spa in Benaulim, Goa, to mark the beginning of the Christmas season.

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK

The event was attended by a large number of people, including hotel guests and associates.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

It all began with a traditional welcome, the arrival of Santa Claus, followed by a brief introduction to the history of cake mixing.

FLAVOURFUL TRADITION

Having originated in Europe, the cake mixing ceremony is a centuries-old tradition, in which the ingredients are soaked in alcohol for several weeks allowing the flavours to sink in, develop and mature.

INVITING AROMA

The participants gathered around a large table to mix the ingredients – several kilograms of dry fruits, nuts, spices and alcohol – filling the air with an exotic aroma.

SHARING THE JOY

The highlight of the evening was the presence of children from the Bethesda Children Home – an NGO based in Colva, Goa – that cares for underprivileged children.

A-CAROLING WE GO

Christmas carols sung by the children resonated throughout the skylight area, adding merriment to the occasion.

BETTER TOGETHER

The event was a wonderful opportunity for people from all walks of life to come together and celebrate the festive season and raise awareness about the importance of community togetherness.
