STEP 1 - To make Goa's traditional Christmas sweet, nevreo, you need to first mix maida, rava, ghee and salt. Add water and make a smooth dough.
STEP 2 - To make the filling for the nevryos, in a pan heat ghee and roast cashews and raisins. Then, add rava, khus khus, sesame seeds and roast them.
STEP 3 - Roll the small dough and make small disc-like puris.
Tip: Cover the dough with a damp cloth or a damp paper towel and let it rest for 20 to 30 minutes. This will ensure there is enough mositure in the dough which makes it easy to roll.
STEP 4 - Fill the rolled, round dough with the filling.
STEP 5 - Now fold the filled portion in the shape of half moon and give the edges a distinct pattern with your fingers, spoon or cutter.
STEP 6 - Fry the nevreos in hot oil till they turn golden brown.
STEP 7 - The Christmas platter or Kuswar is incomplete without nevreos.
