A popular dish, this is a pulao peppered with Goan sausages, which makes it a meal in itself.
3. ARROZ COM COCO (COCONUT PULAO)
A pulao with the rich taste of coconut, generally eaten with Chicken Xacuti.

4. KANJI/PEZ
A light mid-morning meal, this rice porridge is soft cooked in plenty of liquid and eaten with ‘kal chi koddi’ (yesterday’s curry).

A tea time snack, such as Mandos (made primarily of rice, jaggery and coconut).

A pancake made of soaked & ground rice, generally eaten for breakfast.

Rice noodles served with an accompaniment of coconut and jaggery, during afternoon tea.

Steamed rice cakes, which go perfectly with Goan Sorpotel and were traditionally made with coconut toddy.

These tea time treats are merely Sanna with jaggery and coconut as added ingredients.

10. PATOYO/PATOLEO
These are steamed rice flour dumplings, with a stuffing of jaggery and coconut, wrapped in aromatic turmeric leaves. Patoleo are prepared at festive time by Goa’s Catholics (Feast of the Assumption) and Hindus (Ganesh Chaturthi).

Several sweet and savoury items are prepared by Goa’s Hindus, especially during Diwali. Some of these are Batat Fov, Doodanche Fov, Rosantle Fov, Godanche Fov.
