Handing out prizes to the winners on the last day of the All Goa Football tournament, organized by Siolim Boys, Waste Management Miniter Michael Lobo said on Saturday, said that football grounds in the area should be improved.
Football is very popular among locals in Siolim but the grounds aren’t in proper condition.
“With the help of local panchayats and churches, we will try to equip the football grounds in Siolim with the best facilities,” said Lobo, who also represents Calangute in the state assembly.

Deputy Sarpanch of Marna Siolim Panchayat William Fernandes, former Sarpanch and current Panch members Sylvester Fernandes, Vighnesh Chodankar, Waingankar, Babuso alias Daylo Waingankar, Gajanan Tilve were also present on the occasion.
The winning team was given Rs 30,000 cash and a trophy while the runner-up team, Siddhivinayak Ovleshwar Brothers, was given Rs 20,000 cash and a trophy. Prizes were given to the best goalkeeper Vinod and best striker Sridhar with individual awards.
