FC Goa scored once in each half to defeat Chennaiyin FC 2-0 and move to the top of the Indian Super League 8 table with two wins from two games, being the only team to do so.

Redeem Tlang’s glance from the head and Noah Sadaoui scored for FC Goa in the 11th and 92nd minutes to take the game away from Chennaiyin FC.

FC Goa surged ahead before the players could hardly settle when Sadaoui controlled a long pass and after outwitting Fallou Diagne of Chennaiyin FC crossed from the left for Redeem Tlang to glance in a header.

Chennaiyin tried to pound the FC Goa citadel thereafter but their efforts were nullified by FC Goa’s Dheeraj Singh who had a marvellous evening under the horizontal until he was replaced due to an injury suffered.

As the first session was closing, Chennaiyin had another go at the FC Goa goal but this time too, Dheeraj stood tall to deny Chennaiyin FC’s Croatian striker Sliskovic who had a shot at goal from a tight angle.

FC Goa had an opportunity to bolster their lead when Glan Martins took a try at the rival goal when they found themselves with plenty of space on a counterattack.

Both teams tried to dent each other’s citadel with no real threat during the remaining 45 minutes of play. With twelve minutes added on to play as Dheeraj had to be attended for his injury and FC Goa capitalized on the time when Sadaoui killed all hopes of Chennaiyin FC with the second goal – a result of a composed finish.
