FC Goa’s young striker Ishan Pandita on Sunday completed a move away from the club after expressing his dissatisfaction with his role at the club.
Throughout last season, the 23-year-old striker didn’t start any game and was generally brought in towards the final minutes of play.
With less game time last year, Pandita now wants a change in scenery to play in a club where he is given playing time.
"Ishan communicated to the club during the course of the summer that he would like to explore other opportunities keeping his personal growth in mind," Director of Football, Ravi Puskur said in a media statement issued by the club.
Ishan will be joining Jamshedpur FC for the 2021-22 ISL season.
During the 2020-21 ISL season, Ishan was dubbed as the ‘super sub’ for his exploits coming off the bench, scoring four goals in 131 minutes. He scored two of those goals in extra time against Mumbai City FC and Chenniyan FC, showing his skill and ability under pressure.
Before playing for Goa, Ishan was playing in the third division of the Spanish league for Lorca FC.
He has also played for teams like UD Almería Yout, Leganés U19, Pobla de Mafumet CF in Spain. Ishan made his debut for the Indian team against Oman on March 25, 2021. Also Read | Goa government extends curfew till September 6. Check details
