"Football matches cannot be conducted properly when there is no money and GFA has been suffering because of a lack of steady flow of income. This problem can be resolved if we get Caitano Jose Fernades elected as President and only then will we be able to start running GFA professionally again," stated Anthony Pango, former vice president of GFA at a meet the press organised at a city hotel on Thursday.

"Football can be developed when matches are held and money is required to run matches. The administration too can be streamlined with monetary inputs and Caitano is capable of doing what industrialists did in the past," admitted Anthony who is running for the post of South Goa vice president.

"I have been promised assistance from the government in terms of finance for clubs and playing grounds but my promise is that I will spend to take football forward. I said it before the elections were declared and am repeating it now. My vision is to take football forward and I will do it with my hard-eraned money," stated Caitano Fernandes who is aspiring to be the new president of GFA.

"I assure fans that matches will not be postponed indiscriminately and that they will be able to come to see a game and not notice that the match has been postponed," stated Caitano when asked whether the fan will be paramount in his vision to take football forward.

"Ambulances will be there during all matches conducted by GFA and efforts will be made to streamline the administration. If elected to power, I will appoint former international footballer Lector Mascarenhas as general secretary," disclosed Caitano.

At the briefing, Caitano spelt out his vision for GFA and also promised that his team FC Tuem would not only earn promotion to the Goa Professional League - it is in the Third Division now- but would win it.

The vision document distributed to the press threw light on how football is sought to be taken forward in the coming years if Caitano gets the top post at GFA. Availing football grounds, belonging to SAG and DSYA, was one of the priorities listed in the document.
