Panaji: Assonora United Sports Club defeated PVC Association 5-3 in the Goa Football Association's Second Division League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Saturday. Hardly had any spectators taken their seats and there were three goals scored in the span of three minutes. Assonora started brightly and scored the first in the third minute through Dikshay Sarap. At the other end, PVC Association leveller terms in the next minute through Waldron Martins. I’m the next minute, Assonora United SC regained their lead through Kanaya Govenkar. Assonora couldn’t hold on to their slender lead for long as PVC Association restored parity in the 26th minute through Marvoti Horizon. The match was turning out to be see-saw battle as Association took the lead once again through Dikshay, who completed his brace as they led 3-2. Changing end, PVC came with an instant answer as they once again managed to make it all square through Manual Rodrigues. However, Assonora shifted gears and sent extra men forward and their efforts paid off when Kanaya Govenkar and Stepelton Fernandes scored a goal each to take the final goal tally to 5. Assonora United won 5-3.
