Thief arrested by Mormugao police for stealing mobile phones

The Mormugao police on Friday, arrested a person from Gandhinagar in Vasco for his alleged involvement in the theft of four mobile phones and a two-wheeler.

The police gave the name of person as Vikas Kumar Saroj, 22, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who resides in Vasco.

According to police, PSI Aditya Naik Gavkar was patrolling with his staff when the accused was caught with a stolen CD Don Honda bike. The police also seized four mobile phones from him.

The accused is also known to be involved in burglary cases within the premises of Vasco police station and has been handed over to Vasco police.

Police is further investigating the matter.
