Sanguem Excise officials seize liquor worth Rs 20 lakhs

Sanguem Excise Department officials have seized liquor worth of Rs 20 lakh in a raid conducted at Rivona on Monday, January 17.

The excise department team led by Prashant Painginka seized the liquor

As the state's assembly elections are approaching, the distribution of money and liquor is expected to increase during the election campaign.

The excise department has also set time limitations on for sale of liquor on pubs, restaurants, and shops.

Inspection and vigilance teams have been deployed in each of the taluka's constituencies.

Meanwhile, Quepem Excise Dept also seized illegal liquor from Bali worth Rs 1.50 lakh while Tiswadi excise department's team seized illegal liquor worth Rs 27 lakh from an unauthorized storage in Panaji.

Last week, Anjuna police had raided a house in Dabholwada, Chapora, and seized illegally stored liquor worth Rs 69,000
