Goa First files complaint against a hotel for encroachment

According to the complaint filed by Goa First, the hotel has been illegally constructed on the site in violation of the rules of Mormugao Planning Development Authority and Mormugao Planning rules.

Goa First, a non-governmental organization, filed a complaint against the owner and management of Hotel HQ in front of IDBI Bank on Independent Path Marg, Vasco, for encroaching on the setback land near the main road on Friday, February 18.

According to the complaint filed by Goa First, the hotel has been illegally constructed on the site in violation of the rules of Mormugao Planning Development Authority and Mormugao Planning rules.

The Development Authority does not allow any builder or land owner to build on setback territory. Goa First has stated in its complaint that the owner and builder of the hotel had encroached on the setback land and constructed the building in violation of these rules.

The owner and management of the hotel have built a reserved wall on one side and the main entrance, which causes a lot of inconvenience to pedestrians and vehicles on the road.

This is because if a guest comes to the hotel, the security guards at the entrance prevent ordinary people from walking on the sidewalk. Vehicles are also parked on the main road to drop off guests at the hotel.

This causes the road to be narrow and the entire detour is blocked at one end. Therefore, it affects pedestrians as well as drivers.

According to the complaint, the municipality and Mormugao Planning Development Authority overlooked the illegal encroachment. Both authorities were supposed to issue warnings and take action against the builders, but neither did.

Goa First has now requested the concerned authorities to take immediate action against this illegal work and demolish the encroached illegal work.
