Canacona police seized illegal liquor bottles worth Rs 2 lakg from a ship near Agonda on Friday.
According to sources in Canacona police, policemen on duty conducted raid and found that boxes were loaded with liquor bottles.
The Canacona officials of the Excise department on Friday 28th, January, seized an illicit liquor worth Rs 2,04,000 from a wholesale liquor shop at one place in Karashirmoll, Agonda. The illicit alcohol found during the seize is 783 liters of foreign liquor worth Rs 2,04,000.
The seize was conducted under the guidance of Canacona Excise Superintendent Chandranath Dessai and the officers involved in the raid operation from the Excise Office were Ashish Gaonkar, Anand Velip and Datta Gaonkar
On Monday, Canacona police had conducted a raid and seized illegal liquor worth Rs 3,77,000 near Canacona Railway station. Police had also found 139 bottles of different brands liquor worth Rs 25,100 from platform No.1 at the Margao railway station.
Meanwhile, the Returning officers has formed eight different teams to ensure fair elections in Canacona.
