A 37-year-old man died after lightning struck at Pernem on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Kalu Mali, a resident of the Bhilwara district in Rajasthan.
According to Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi, the incident took place in the evening around 6 pm when the victim was taking shelter under a temporary erected shade of plastic tarpaulin due to heavy rainfall. He was struck by lighting and felt unconscious on the ground.
He was declared brought dead before arrival at PHC Cansavarnem.
Pernem police have registered an unnatural death case and after conducting inquest panchanama the body was sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital for preservation.
Pernem police is further investigating the case.
