At a time when ride-hailing companies are struggling with increasing fuel prices and criticism for surge prices, Murtaza Ali has started an initiative called 'Apna Bhada', where consumers could hail free taxi services in Goa.
As the name “Apna Bhada” suggests, consumers dont have to take any from their own pockets to avail its services. Currently, its services is available in Goa, Bangalore and Delhi, while plans to go pan-India on the horizon.
Instead of collecting fare from its customers, Apna Bhada will instead gather revenue from advertisements. Its unique revenue model focuses on displaying advertisements to the consumers while inside the taxi.
The initiative, which can be revolutionary in the transport industry, began on April 23, 2021 in Goa. With limited taxis, they proved that they can run a succesfull business and have expanded to Delhi and Bangalore. The 24x7 service was operational even during the pandemic.
Recently, Indian wrestler Sangram Singh appreciated Ali's revolutionary initiative and have joined their team to expand its business.
