Karnataka issues travel guidelines for people coming from Goa. Check strict Covid rules

The Karnataka government has also made RT-PCR negative report mandatory for those coming from Maharashtra and Kerala and decided to have intensive surveillance at the borders.

In the light of the new Covid-19 variant and surge in the daily Coronavirus cases in Karnataka, the Karnataka government has made RT-PCR negative reports from not more than 72 hours or three days mandatory for people from Goa entering entering Karnataka via Belagavi and Karwar districts.

District and police authorities are carrying out intensified vigil at the border check posts in the Belagavi and Karwar. People entering Karnataka via Goa will have to get the RT-PCR test done.

The Karnataka government has also made RT-PCR negative report mandatory for those coming from Maharashtra and Kerala and decided to have intensive surveillance at the borders.

If the passenger is taking a flight, the airline will issue boarding pass only to those who produce the negative RT-PCR certificate. R

Railway authorities are also responsible to ensure that passengers carry RT-PCR report and In case of bus travel, the same responsibility shall lie with the conductor

The Karnataka government has also imposed a weekend curfew for the next two weeks commencing from January 7. The weekend curfew will begin at 10 pm on Friday and will continue till 5 am on Monday.

All offices will function five days a week from Monday to Friday during this period and the government secretariat will run with official below the rank of Under Secretary at 50% of the working strength. While pubs, clubs, restaurants, bars, hotels, eating places in hotels etc, will function with 50 per cent of the seating capacity strictly adhering to Covid appropriate behaviour and entry to such places will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons.

Karnataka reported 4,246 new Covid cases on Wednesday, with Bengaluru reporting the highest number of cases in the southern state.
