Lata Mangeshkar tests Covid positive, admitted to ICU

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar admitted to ICU after testing positive for Covid-19

Songstress of Goan origin, Lata Mangeshkar shifted to a private hospital in Bombay after she was tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, January 11.

Dr Pratit Samdhani, who is heading the team of experts treating Mangeshkar, said that she was brought early on Sunday morning and is suffering from Covid-19 and pneumonia, reported The Indian Express.

Mangeshkar’s niece, Rachana told the media persons that her condition was stable and was kept in ICU as a precautionary measure considering her age.

She also appealed to her fans to pray for her speedy recovery and respect their privacy at this crucial time.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant wished for Mangeshkar’s quick recovery. "Wishing the Legendary singer & pride of India, @mangeshkarlata."

The 92-year-old singer has been bestowed with several awards and accolades like Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dada Saheb Phalke Award and various national film awards.
