Goa on Sunday, January 16, reported a marginal drop in number of daily cases, recording 3,232 new cases. This is the fourth day in a row that the daily Covid-19 tally in Goa has continued to cross the 3000-mark.
With this, the cumulative tally of total Covid-19 cases in Goa has reached 2,10,475 according to numbers provided by the state health bulletin on Sunda
In the past 24 hours, the disease claimed the lives of 7 people in the coastal state. Out of the seven, six weren't vaccinated while one had received both the doses.
A 71-year-old man from Mapusa was bought dead to the hospital while a 82-year-old woman from Revora died within 12 hours of hospitalisation. A 85-year old woman from Fatorda with no symptoms was admitted in Goa Medical College on January 14 only to die of Covid-19 in 24 hours. The youngest of them is a 50-year old from Old Goa who was hospitalised for 10 days before succumbing to the virus.
The active case tally has reached 21,381 while the recovery rate stands at 88.15% with 1922 patients having recovered from the coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, Goa has conducted 7049 tests, a dip from Saturday's 8578 tests. As many as 31 patients were hospitalized in the last 24 hours while 3201 infected-people were advised to isolate at home.
