The Goa police on Thursday destroyed over 30 Kg of narcotic products worth Rs 1.23 crore seized in 21 different cases. The products including Ganja, Charas and Cocaine were destroyed by utilizing the services of the incinerator of Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
The products destroyed included 7.070 kg Ganja, 23.024 kg Charas and 12 grams Cocaine.
“The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Disposal Committee of Goa Police headed by Parmaditya, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (C& R) and members comprising of Mahesh Gaonkar, Superintendent of Police(ANC), Abhishek Dhaniya, IPS, Superintendent of Police (HQ), and Shweta Dessai, Dy Director, Food & Drugs Admn for Director, Food & Drugs Admn has destroyed below mentioned narcotic drugs in 21 disposed-off cases of Goa Police,” the press release from the police department stated.
Last year in March, the Goa Police had destroyed 27 kgs of narcotics worth Rs 1 crore.
