Goa reported a sharp jump in Covid fatalities at 20, the highest single-day count of the third wave so far, pushing the death toll to 3,665 on Friday.
The caseload of active cases dropped to 11,903 with recoveries exceeding the new cases.
The number of daily Covid-19 cases also jumped to 1,322 on Friday, a day after the daily case count went below the 1000-mark.
With 4,649 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the daily positivity rate was at 28.44 per cent.
With 2,668 recoveries, the recovery rate went up to 93.41 per cent.
54 patients were hospitalised whereas 43 patients were discharged on Friday.
The overall infection tally of Goa now stand at 2,36,361.
On Thursday, The directorate of health services said that around 75.25% of COVID-19 patients who died in the second wave and 53% of the patients who have succumbed to the dreaded virus in Goa during the ongoing third wave of the pandemic had not taken even the first dose of any anti-COVID-19 vaccine.
The DHS data revealed that 98.67% of the targeted population in Goa has received both the doses of the vaccine, and that 80.32% of the beneficiaries falling in the age group of 15-18 have been vaccinated against COVID.
