The first charter flight from Kyrgyzstan arrived at the Dabolim airport bringing around 185 tourists for the year-end festivities in Goa.

The landing of the flight from Kyrgyzstan at Dabolim comes at a time when speculations are floating around that the all-important airport for South Goa will die a slow death because of Mopa.

Amar Dhumatkar, representative of Caper Travels, informed that it was a great pleasure for the company to bring in the first set of international tourists from Kyrgyzstan for the first time in Goa.

The tourists were given a warm and musical welcome by a brass band. They were also given roses.

Dhumatkar further informed that flights from Kyrgyzstan will arrive in Goa once in 8 days for one month and there are chances that these may extend till March 2023.

It may be recalled that on October 26, the first international charter flight of the tourism season arrived from Almaty, Kazakhstan, with 187 passengers.

At that time, the Minister for Transport Mauvin Godinho had personally welcomed the tourists with flowers and reiterated that the Dabolim international airport will continue to function and receive tourists via charter flights.
