Valpoi: Taking cognizance of injustice done to local fish vendors by Valpoi civic body, the Valpoi Block Congress Committee along with fish vendors on Monday gheroad Valpoi Municipal Council chief officer Rajesh Ajgaonkar and asked him to take strict action against illegal fish vendors operating at different places of Valpoi. As per sources, due to these illegal vendors, the business of local vendors sitting in municipal market building gets affected. Valpoi Block Congress Committee president Dasharath Mandrekar said that the committee has submitted memorandum to chief officer and given him four-day-ultimatum to resolve the problem. He also said that despite several complaints made to VMC, the local body has failed to take any action pertaining to illegal sale of fish.
