The Bombay High Court on Monday has given the permission to Goa government to allow the people, irrespective of whether they are tourists or not, to enter the state without having to produce a negative COVID-19 report provided they are fully vaccinated.

Partially vaccinated and non-vaccinated people will still have to produce a negative COVID-19 report for entry.

“The High Court has allowed the application by the state government where people who are fully vaccinated, post 14 days of their second dose, can enter Goa without an RT-PCR negative test or a rapid antigen test,” said an advocate representing the South Goa Advocates Association.

Children above two years of age will have to come with an RT PCR test report. Children below two years of age, if symptomatic, will have to carry an RT PCR report while no test report is needed if they are asymptomatic.

Initially, the High Court had directed the Goa government to insist on people producing the negative COVID-19 report when the second wave was at its peak in May. The High Court had said, “there is no justification in the state of Goa not insisting upon a negativity certificate from persons who seek entry into Goa at this crucial juncture.”

The COVID-19 tally in Goa reached 1,73,850 on Monday with the addition of 59 cases, while the day also saw three deaths and 59 recoveries. The toll in the state stands at 3,198 and the number of people discharged so far is 169,769, leaving it with 883 active cases,
