50 pilgrims off to Tirupati from Vasco on special train

Medical experts and police personnel accompany pilgrims to control problematic events

Fifty pilgrims from Vasco on Sunday left for a Tirupati pilgrimage under the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yatra special train scheme. Vasco BJP MLA Krishna Salkar opined that the BJP government has given due consideration to most of the senior citizens who crave to visit pilgrimage centres.

A bus carrying 50 pilgrims from Vasco was flagged off by Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Sunday morning. This bus will drop these pilgrims at Margao railway station. The pilgrims will then have to take a special train under the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yatra from Margao station.

After flagging off the bus from Vasco, MLA Salkar told reporters that the BJP government has eased some of the responsibility of the families by arranging a free pilgrimage trip for senior citizens.

Many people wish to visit pilgrimage sites like Pandharpur, Ashtavinayak, Shirdi, Tirupati, etc. They can visit these places using the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yatra train. On the November 20, a special train will leave for Vailankanni from Margao.

He further said that from Vasco a bus was arranged to drop around 50 pilgrims at the Margao railway station where they will board this special train. All the accommodation, food, train tickets, etc have been taken care of by the state government. These pilgrims will be accompanied by a team of medical experts and police personnel in case of any emergency.
