4 tourists from Hyderabad severely injured in a car accident in Ponda

The traffic cell and road safety activists have called for immediate measures to curb road accidents in the state.

Four tourists, including two males and two females, got severely injured in a road accident at Bethora village in Ponda on Monday.

The accident took place on a sidewalk when a tipper was passing coming from Margao collied. There were four occupants identified as Chandana Bharat (27), Praveen Kumar (26), Jhashi and Anjum (both 26) in the car (A.P-21- BK- 1827).

The victims were admitted to Ponda Sub-district hospital. After primary treatment, they were shifted to Bambolim hospital for further treatments.

Since Monday, five fatal accidents have been reported from several places. While two accidents involved two-wheelers, the rest involved two-wheelers.
