The Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday, January 22, declared its second list of election candidates announcing 7 names, for the upcoming Goa Assembly Elections scheduled for February 14.
Earlier last week, TMC had released their first list of 11 candidates for the Goa assembly polls.
In the second list, Kavita Kiran Kandolkar, former Colvale ZP Member and wife of former Goa Forward Party president Kiran Kandolkar, is contesting from Tivim. Questions might be asked on TMC's decision to field former MLA Benjamin Silva instead of South Goa Advocates Association's President Antonio Clovis Da Costa.
Antony Menezes, former Calangute sarpanch and ex-Congress member, got a TMC ticket to contest from Calangute constituency. Other names on the list include Leao F. P. Diaz contesting from Siolim, Antony Alberto Peixoto contesting from curtorim, Mahesh Amonkar for Margao constituency and Mahadev Dessai contesting from Canacona.
The Mamata Banerjee-led party is fighting assembly elections I'm Goa in alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). The election for the 40 seats will take place on February 14, and the ballots will be counted on March 10.
