Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party's (MGP) candidate for Pernem, Pravin Arlekar, on Monday, January 3, officially joined BJP at a special function with his supporters in Pernem in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and BJP State President Sadanand Tanawade ahead of 2022 Assembly elections.
Arlekar is the second MGP candidate to join BJP after its Mayem's candidate Premendra Shet.
Speaking at the induction function, Arelkar said he would tirelessly work for the party to bring it back to power. He further said that he quit MGP because he was not taken into confidence over the MGP-TMC alliance.
