Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai has summoned the session of the state legislative Assembly on March 15 for new MLAs to take oath.
A circular issued in this regard also said Sanvordem MLA-elect Ganesh Gaonkar will be administered oath as pro-tem speaker on March 14 at Raj Bhavan by the governor after which the former would conduct the oath taking ceremony to the 39 legislators.
The BJP, led by caretaker Chief Minister Pramod, won 20 seats in the polls to the 40-member Assembly to retain power althought it short of majority in the coastal state. The three independent MLAs has already extended support to the BJP. The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) has also extended unconditional support to the BJP.
There is no official confirmation from the ruling BJP as to who will be the next chief minister of state. BJP's central observers are yet to arrive in Goa and held a meeting with all it s legislators to choose a CM.
The BJP, which has been promised support by three Independent MLAs, will stake claim to form a government in the coastal state on Monday, sources said.
