Goa Assembly Elections 2022 Live Updates: 75.29 per cent Goans cast their vote till 5 pm

A total of 301 candidates are in the fray for 40 constituencies. Besides the candidates of the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Goa Forward Party (GFP), Trinamool Congress Party, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), NCP, Shiv Sena, Revolutionary Goans, Goencho Swabhimaan Party, Jai Mahabharat Party and Sambhaji Brigade, there are 68 Independent candidates. The Independents include rebels from the main political parties.

A first-time voter, while sharing his experience in Bicholim, said: “We have voted first time at the assembly election. We wish to bring to power a good candidate through our vote. It was a good experience.”

A senior citizen voter from Mapusa Constituency, Sushila Bandekar, said, “I hope the candidate I voted for gets the maximum number of votes and comes to power, that is my wish. I can’t even talk, nor walk properly but I want my candidate to win that’s why I am here.”
