The Election Commission on Thursday lifted the ban on victory processions during the counting of votes and declaration of results in the five states where elections were held recently.
In a statement, the poll panel said keeping in mind the current status of Covid-19 in these states, it has "decided to relax the guidelines on victory processions during and after the counting and has withdrawn the blanket ban on victory procession."
In Panaji, BJP candidate Atanasia Monserrate has defeated Independent candidate and late former CM Manohar Parikar's son Utpal Parikar by 710 votes and said, "It is because of the support few of the workers and supporters that I have managed to win the seat."
AAP's Captain Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva won in Benaulim and Velim, respectively.

Congress candidate Delilah Lobo wins from Siolim constituency with a margin of 1,648 votes.
The BJP claims it has the support of three independents Antonio Vas (Cortalim), Chandrakant Shetye (Bicholim) and Alex Reginaldo (Curtorim).
“Lead is not everything. The final results are yet to come. We will form the next government with the help of other political parties and Independents,” says Goa Pradesh Congress Committee’s working president Aleixo Sequeira.
BJP candidates Atanasio Monserrate and Jeniffer Monserrate have won from Panaji and Taleigao constituencies respectively. BJP's Vishwajit Rane and Deviya Vishwajit Rane won from Valpoi and Poriem Assembly constituency. Deviya Rane, who contested for the first time, won the Poriem seat by a huge margin of 13,943 vote.
Congress' Michael Vincent Lobo has won from Calangute seat and his wife Delilah Michael Lobo is leading from the Siolim constituency.
