Hours after Congress declared its fifth and final list of candidates ahead of next month's Goa Assembly elections, Congress allotted Mandrem constituency to alliance partner Goa Forward party.
Earlier, Congress had allotted Fatorda and Mayem to the GFP. However, GFP was upset over the fielding of candidates by Congress in St Andre and Canacona.
Goa Congress desk in charge Dinesh Gundu Rao took to Twitter to congratulate all the candidates. "Congratulations to all the selected @INCIndia candidates for the 5 constituencies of the #GoaElections2022. The 1-Mandrem constituency has been allotted to the @Goaforwardparty," he tweeted.
Earlier in the day, Congress had released the fifth list of candidates, declaring Delilah Lobo, wife of former BJP minister Michael Lobo who joined the party last week, as its candidate from the Siolim Assembly constituency.
The grand old party has also shut its door on the former three times Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco, who resigned from TMC in just a month after joining the Mamata Banerjee-led party. The party has named Moreno Rebello as its candidate from Curtorim.
Congress has announced candidates for 37 seats out of 40 constituencies. Election for the 40 seats will be held on February 14 and counting of votes will take place on March 10.
