CM Pramod Sawant files nomination from Sanquelim

Sawant said he will win Sankhli with a huge margin and BJP will get an absolute majority with 22-plus seats in Goa.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod filed his nomination from the Sanquelim constituency on Wednesday.

Sawant filed his nomination in the presence of Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis and speaker Rajesh Patnekar.

Sawant said he will win Sankhli with a huge margin and BJP will get an absolute majority with 22-plus seats in Goa.

"I have filed my nomination. There is enthusiasm among workers and with this sam enthusiasm we will once again win from Sankhli with huge margin. With the blessings of of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda BJP will form the double-engine government once again in Goa," he said.Sawa

Sawant said BJP had won all the three seats in the Bicholim taluka in 2017 elections and this time too it will all the three constituencies.

On being asked whether he is facing anti-incumbency, Sawant said, "Developent has being caried out by the double-engine government in Goa. Instead of anti-incumbency, BJP will benefit in Goa.

Devendra Fadnavis claimed that there is no resentment against BJP in Goa. "Seeing the work of the BJP government led by Pramod Sawant, the people of Goa will once again bring the BJP to power," Fadnavis said.

Sawant has won the Sankhli consituency in the 2012 and 2017 assembly election. Later, after the demise of the former chief minitser Manohar Parrikar, he was elevated to the position of Chief Minister in Goa.

The election for the 40 seats will take place on February 14, and the ballots will be counted on March 10.
