Mandrem BJP Youth Wing's General Secretary and Paliem Panchayat Member, Sagar Tilve, joined Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) along with supporters and former panchayat members on Friday, January 14.
A director of the Goa State Horticulture Development Corporation, Tilve, joined MGP along with former Paliem sarpanch Prasad Parab, BJYM member Yogesh Paliencar and others in the presence of Jit Arolkar.
Speaking at the event, Tilve said, "I was attracted by the work of Jit Arolkar and joined MGP. Arolkar defeated MLA Dayanand Sopte in both the 2017 and 2019 elections. He had adopted the policy of giving government to youths, now we will try to get the lead from Paliem village for MGP."
He also expressed displeasure over the work of Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte and not giving government jobs to the youths and poor.
Former Sarpanch Prasad Parab said, "We are not angry with the party, but it did not turn out as the youth of Goa should have sworn, and we are entering because we like the way MGP's Jit Arolkar works."
Jit Arolkar is all set to contest for Mandrem constituency in the upcoming Assembly election 2022.
On Friday, MGP leader Jit Arolkar inaugurated the party office in Paliem in the presence of MGP leaders Raghoba Gawde, Devendra Prabhudesai, Dayanand Mandrekar, former Sarpanch Subhash Asolkar.
"Good days are coming for Mandrem and change is about to take place. When our government comes, we will put efforts to solve the problems of the youth and women," he said.
MGP leaders Raghoba Gawde, Devendra Prabhudesai, Dayanand Mandrekar, former Sarpanch Subhash Asolkar, Panch Gunaji Thakur, Panch Praveen Vaigankar, Uday Mandrekar Sagar Tilve, Prasad Parab, Sajjan Tilve and other were present on the occasion.
