The Chief Minister face will be from the Goan Bhandari samaj, while the Deputy Chief Minister face will be from the Catholic community, said Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday, ahead of Goa Assembly elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Panaji, Sisodia said that the Bhandari community has always been ignored as far as representation in the government is concerned by Congress and BJP.

It has been more than 60 years since Goa got liberated. However, only one CM, Ravi Naik, from Bhandari Samaj got the Chief Ministerial post and that too for a short tenure of two-and-a-half years. Congress and BJP have always used the Bhandari Samaj for votes in the elections and discarded the community after winning the elections," he said.

Sisodia further said Christians will also be given due importance in the cabinet and a person from the community will be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister, if the party comes to power in the coastal State.

"All communities will be given representation in the Goa cabinet if the AAP comes to power in the state," the Deputy Chief Minister said.

He also claimed that AAP has been increasingly getting acceptance in Goa, with people from all communities rallying behind the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.
