Ahead of next month's Goa Assembly elections, former BJP Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, who quit resigned from the Assembly and the ruling party to join AAP, was present to oversee the ongoing road repair-asphalting work at the railway Colony area of Vidyanagar near the MES college on Tuesday 11, January.

"The road will be repaired and asphalted at the total cost of RS 36 lakhs. Although I am no longer the MLA of Cortalim, I took the initiative to repair the roads," Saldanha told reporters.

Praising the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government, Saldanha said, "The Aam Admi Party is a party that works for the betterment of the people and I have seen this in Delhi."

She further expressed confidence that people of Cortalim will re-elect her and bring AAP to power in the upcoming elections.

"The people have seen the development that I have done in the Cortalim constituency for the last five years for the benefit of people and many of the works have already been completed and some are still in progress. I am getting great support from the Cortalim people and many of the citizens of Cortalim are aware that the AAP is a development Party, " she said.
