Goa's beaches are a draw for those seeking to rejuvenate themselves far away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind of life.

If one moves down towards South Goa in the interiors, one is sure to come across peaceful beaches, still unheard of by some tourists coming here for the first time.

The Palolem beach is at a distance of 7 km from Talpona.

If you are a bit of a traveller, hit the national highway from Panjim and arrive in Canacona after a one-and-half hour drive (this time could stretch depends on the traffic on a given day).

But, instead of heading to the taluka's more famous Palolem beach, which is on every traveller's list, head towards the interior to Talpona beach.

The Talpona jetty, where fishing boats bring in the fresh catch of the day.

The Talpona beach is a relatively quiet and less-crowded beach one can find in South Goa. The beach is about 70 km from Dabolim airport and 40 km from Margao, one of the major cities in South Goa.

LOCATION

The beach, known for its quiet and secure environment, lies at a distance of around 7 km from Palolem beach. So, if you decide to go to Talpona, it will take you about 15 minutes from Palolem.

QUIET

Talpona is cut off from the hum drum of other places. There are no commercial activities, and even if there are, they operate quietly. It is an ideal place for peace seekers. The beauty of the place and its silence are something that will stay with you for long.

CLEAN

This beach is relatively clean compared to some of the popular beaches in Goa, where plastic pollution and broken glass pieces in the sand have become a major problem. Here, you can walk bare foot and without having to worry about glass splinters piercing your leg.

At Talpona, one can switch off the mind and tune into the soul.

TREE COVER

Talpona beach is surrounded by coconut palms and casuarina trees. This adds to the beauty of the beach.

FISHING COMMUNITY

Since the beach is close to a fishing village, it allows visitors to study the local fishing culture and know about the industry.

SUNSET

You can get stunning views of the sunset from Talpona beach. Locals come to this place especially to catch a view of the setting sun.

A stone's throw from Talpona is the Galgibaga beach, known for its turtle nesting site.

ACCOMMODATION

Talpona beach has some guest houses and beach huts that offer accommodation options for those who want to stay close to the shore.

NEARBY PLACES

If you feel you have had an overdose of Talpona, then head to nearby places like Galgibaga, Agonda, Cola, Cabo de Rama, which are equally beautiful.
