If living in the wild is your thing, even if it were for just a day, then head to Dharbandora's Green Goa Village, nestled in the midst of wilderness on the banks of the Mhadei River.

Run by Joseph Barreto, Green Goa Village is organising an overnight wildlife camp – Living With Wildlife – on April 27-28 (Saturday and Sunday). The camp will acquaint participants with the valuable survival skills, along with inculcating in them respect for nature.

Eminent nature lovers and enthusiasts like Benhail Antao, whose series on snakes on the National Geographic channel have enthralled many, would be part of the camp.

An encyclopaedia on snakes, Antao will fill the campers up with all the information relating to reptiles and the significant role they play in preserving Goa’s ecosystem. Goa boasts of a rich and wide variety of snakes.

“Awareness about wildlife and forests in today’s time is very important and camps like these (Goa Green Village) give people exposure and knowledge, which in turn will help in protecting wildlife,” said Goa’s renowned Ophidiophile, Antao.

Known for his NatGeo show Snakes SOS: Goa's Wildest, Antao has been actively rescuing wild animals across Goa. His specialisation lies in handling all kinds of wildlife species, including reptiles – snakes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, etc.

RESOURCE PERSONS: (From L to R) Benhail Antao, Capt Suresh Babu and Alex Carpenter.

An overnight adventure camp was a natural outcome of a meeting between Barreto and Antao at the former’s Jungle Book property. The idea emerged from their like-mindedness and common interest in all things natural.

Barreto has also roped in Alex Carpenter, who will teach campers how to connect with the wild. Carpenter, who has made Goa his home for the past eight years, is the co-founder and managing director of Tree Tribe that promotes environmental conservation. Like Antao, Carpenter also specialises in snake and reptile rescue.

Veteran Indian armed force commander Suresh Babu, who is also part of the camp, will share tips on surviving in the wilderness.

If you are someone, who loves lying under the blanket of stars and listening to nature’s music, then this adventure camp beckons you.

Dharbandora's Green Goa Village will be one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience; an opportunity to take in the fresh air, discover yourself and fill up your chest of learnings by interacting with nature lovers, who have mastered the art of living in harmony with nature.

A PROMISE: Dharbandora's Green Goa Village will be one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience, says its owner Joseph Barreto.
