‘TRADITIONAL GOAN GAMES’ IN SALIGAO
Every Tuesday, the ‘Made In Saligao’ community market celebrates all things Goan.
And, to make things a little more interesting, each week is centered around a theme intrinsically connected with Goa.
This Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the theme is ‘Traditional Goan Games’.
Visitors to the market will get a chance to relive childhood memories and play the simple, traditional games of the past such as Lobyeani, Goddeamni, Gonttanim, Sune ani Hadd.
Noted Goan author and historian, Dr Maria de Lourdes Bravo da Costa Rodrigues, will share insights into these pastimes of old.
She will take listeners on an immersive journey into the traditional games that have woven the fabric of Goan heritage, exploring the joyous spirit of Goa through games that have stood the test of time.
In addition to that, visitors can indulge in delicious Goan delicacies and buy lovely handcrafted products.
Other entertainment to enjoy includes karaoke singing, music by Dynamic Sound, and a game of Tambola. The programme will be compered by Jerusha.

NOITE DE GASTRONOMIA E MUSICA
Looking to get a taste of Goa’s Portuguese roots? Here’s an opportunity to do just that. Semana da Cultura Indo-Portuguesa, Goa, presents ‘Noite de Gastronomia e Musica’ on February 9, 2024 at Bay 15, Dona Paula.
The event is a celebration of Indo-Portuguesa culture, art, music, dance and cuisine, where guests will be able to enjoy fusion cuisine, specially crafted by Chef Jaime Cruz from Portugal.
Music for the evening will be provided by Crimson Tide and Viras no Oriente.
