Are you part of a ghumat aarti group that is passionate about preserving and promoting this traditional Goan musical art form? If so, then here is an exciting opportunity to showcase your talent at the upcoming Inter-college ghumat aarti competition!
Scheduled on September 15, 2023, the event has been organised by the Young Inspirators Network (YIN) of Dainik Gomantak and the Student Council and INDIC Club of Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira, Bambolim.
The event will begin from 9.30 am onwards at the Foyer Area, Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce & Economics.
The competition aims to provide a great opportunity for students to showcase their skills and talents to a wider audience, and to connect with other ghumat aarti enthusiasts from across the state. It aims to increase cultural awareness among the students and highlight Goa's rich cultural tradition of music.
During the competition, a performing group will have to perform two aartis, paramparik aarti and Gajar/Mukhvadan, within a span of 20 minutes. The use of tanpoora will not be allowed.
