ComePostVille, in association with the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP), is organising ‘Amchi Panaji’ Huddle on Republic Day, January 26, 2023.
ComePostVille is an initiative to build purpose-driven communities, where people share knowledge and skills, encourage positive actions, build on experiences and grow towards sustainability.
The main objectives of the Huddle are:
To recognize the work done by citizens, institutions and commercial establishments for better waste management in the city.
To appreciate the work that the safai karmacharis are doing to keep the city clean.
To have a dialogue between citizens and the corporation towards improving the Swaccha Survekshan ranking of the city in the coming year.
The event is being organized in association with:
GIZ: A German development agency working with the CCP on waste management.
Voluntary Health Association of Goa: An NGO working in the public health space (and which had recently conducted a medical checkup of all public toilet caretakers in Panjim).
People for Panjim Parks: An organization working towards better public spaces in Panjim.
Goa College of Home Science, Campal: The college has surveyed public toilets in the capital city and will present its findings at the huddle.
Ayya Waste Management, which runs a waste collection and recycling initiative.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI): A not-for-profit organization which works with the CCP and GIZ as an implementing partner for the Circular Waste Solutions Project.
