Have fun this weekend at Goa Saraswat Food & Cultural Festival

The festival, which will be held from Feb 10 to 12, is free

The much-awaited Saraswat Food & Cultural Festival-2023 by Goa Saraswat Samaj will be held for three days from February 10 to 12 on the BPS Sports Club grounds. The festival is open to all and entry is free.

Addressing a press conference Dr Jagannath (Desh) Prabhudessai, President of Goa Saraswat Samaj, informed that the inaugural function will be held on Friday at 5 pm. Margao MLA Digambar Kamat will be the chief guest.

On the occasion, meritorious students of the Saraswat community, who have excelled in various examinations, will be felicitated on behalf of GSS on February 12, between 10 am and 1 pm at the hands of Utpal Manohar Parrikar.

The prize distribution function and the concluding programme will be held on Sunday at 7 pm. Vijai Sardesai, MLA of Fatorda constituency, will remain present as chief guest.

The concluding ceremony will be followed by a fashion show. This year, the venue is named Padma Bhushan Manohar Prabhu Parrikar Nagar in honour of the former Union Defence Minister of and CM of Goa.

The festival will have various professional and non-professional food stalls and traditional food items. It will also host on-stage and off-stage competitions like wonders from waste, singing, drawing, painting, dance, fancy dress and face painting.

Goa Saraswat Samaj has appealed to the people to attend the festival in large numbers and make it a success.
