As part of the celebrations of the United Nations International Year of Millets 2023, the Goa Science Centre, Miramar, in collaboration with ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Old Goa, is organising a workshop on ‘Shree Anna: Role of Millets in Global Nutritional Security, Climate Adaption, Health and Prosperity’ on August 14, 2023.

Director of ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Old Goa, Dr Parveen Kumar, will be the guest speaker at the event.

The event is open to the general public and there are limited seats. While there are no participation fees, registration is compulsory and must be done before August 10, 2023.

The Goa Science Centre was set up in 2001, and is a joint project of India's National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) and Goa's Department of Science Technology & Environment.

Shree Anna includes as jowar, bajra, ragi, sama, kangni, cheena, kodon, kutki and kuttu that are prevalent in different parts of India.
